“A determination of intent comes from knowing where to rest.
From determination comes tranquility.
From tranquility comes ease.
From ease comes deliberation.
From deliberation comes attainment.” _ The Great Learning
Sansookyung (山水景) means “a landscape of mountains and water touched by light.” These images find beauty in the ordinary. Min transforms ordinary subjects into poetic black-and-white prints, captivating viewers with a magical allure. Rarely do we see a Korean photographer who, through a Western medium, reveals a path to the Eastern jingyeong—a true-view landscape. The deep gray tones between light and shadow evoke traditional East Asian ink paintings, resembling a visual poem. Following the flow of light as it interacts with white space, this photobook is a hand-bound edition, limited to 500 copies. The special edition, limited to 30 copies, includes a gelatine silver print by the artist in the darkroom, housed in a wooden slipcase.
